BARBEQUE NATION

And finally Barbeque Nation happened. It was a long wait since when i was planning to visit this restaurant. The urge to have kebabs here grew stronger when I came back from our Madhya Pradesh Tour where we had to eat veg almost everyday.

Thank god, now they are at park street which is not very far from my place. A weekday afternoon with my cousin having nothing to do brought us here.

Located at first floor with very spacious interior. Simple yet elegant décor with very comfortable seats. Both of us were very excited since we had heard a lot about it. A corner table for two was fine for us.

We were offered complementary drinks where both of us took fresh lime soda sweet.

We opted for non veg buffet. They started serving starters on grill at table.

The starter consisted of-
 Angara fish
 Harisha prawns
 Dill leaf chicken
 Mirch masala wings
 Mutton mughlai seekh

Fish was soft and tasted great. Prawns and chicken were good though mutton seekh was dry and a bit hard. Wings were average.

They also offered us veg starters among which we took-
Pesto mushroom
Cajun spiced potato
Sweet corn
Grilled pineapple
I didn’t like mushroom but i just loved pineapple and spiced potato. The sweet and sour taste of pineapple just changed the taste whereas the potato was a bit gravy type. Corn was over cooked and got dried.

In main course, we took-
Sea food laska soup
Sea food salad
Chicken salad
Chicken dum biriyani
Mutton dak bunglow
Roasted Papad

Soup was a bit oily and the droplets were floating on the top though tasted good. Both the salads were average and sea food salad mainly had prawns in it. Biriyani was light and good in taste. Mutton dak bunglow tasted like mutton kasha and i didn’t like it.
Coming to the desserts, we had-
Angoori gulab jamun
Mango sticky pudding
Honey almond pastry
Mexican brownie
Jamun cheese cake
Ice cream with chocolate sauce
Phirnee
Fresh fruits-water melon,papaya
Among these, pastry and pudding were very unique and i just loved them. Brownie was soft and good too. Phirnee and jamun cheese cake were average.
Price was reasonable. Service very good and staffs are very helpful and friendly. Main course could have been better and kebabs were good but it didn’t meet my expectation as i heard a lot about it from many of my foodie friends.
